We’re going to California!
After 2 years without a visit to the US, we are excited to announce we will be in California for 2 months, catching up with friends and family and working on raising support for Pura Vida Church for 2015.
We are super excited to share what God has been doing here in Costa Rica in person and would love to come visit you, your church, or bible study. Please pray for travel mercies.
As we are preparing to leave Costa Rica for such a long time it has been incredible encouraging to see what an amazing team of leaders God has raised up here. This year we have seen an increased amount of commitment from the leaders of the church and God has been moving in big ways. Please pray for this team as they care for the church while we are gone.
Parrita Church is booming! We knew they were going to grow fast but not this fast! Their mid week service rotates to different houses in the community with over 50 people in ateendance, they have a Saturday morning Kids Club with 30 kids and they have started mentoring/discipling a group of 8 teens.
I want to dedicate most of this post to share the testimony of Pastor Roberto from Pura Vida Church Parrita. He and his family have been living there for the last 6 months. They have been living in a small apartment above a grocery store, just outside of the “neighborhood”. Because of some restraints that they had in doing ministry in that location we found them another house in the neighborhood that they have been reaching out to and we moved them in. Soon after they moved they saw that there was a serious drug depot right across the street. Smoking crack in the street, and seeing very young children used as mules to deliver drugs was an everyday occurrence. As a church we began to pray for those neighbors and for the safely of Roberto and his family. Miraculously about a week later a truck pulled up and the people living there loaded up all their stuff and left!
Continue to pray for courage and safety for Roberto and his family as this is a very tough neighborhood that desperately needs to see the love of Jesus.
