Summer isn’t over yet and there is still so much to do, but we wanted to fill you all in on the last few amazing months.
We have continued with monthly trips to Pavones and encouraging other people on their journey of church planting and we have been reminded of the simplicity of the gospel and the example of Jesus in evangelism. He called us to be a light in our communities and yet sometimes we can be so distracted by churchy things that we lose sight of the goal, to reach the lost. We don’t prioritize spending time with unbelievers and expect them to come to us. Romans 10:14 calls us to action and reminds us all of our calling to share the good news with a hopeless world.
“But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?”
This is the message we are sharing in the churches and camps we are visiting in western NY/PA this month and we want to encourage you all to ask God to reveal to you places where you can go to be His light. Live holy lives so that your light can shine everywhere you go, at home, at work, at the gym, with a sports team, at the park, at the beach, with your book club, or knitting club, wherever you are. It doesn’t have to be far, use the social circles you are already engaged in, be intentional, be prayerful as you enter these places, and keep your eyes open to see where the Holy Spirit is moving.
Sometimes we are called to go far from home. As a family, we have been called to go to the ends of the earth (the beach) and you are a part of that as well. So thank you, thank you for making it possible for us to travel around the world and encourage others to make disciples and plant churches. We couldn’t do it without you. Read on to see how much has been done because of your prayers and support.

Celebrating after a long day of Strategy and Operations meetings for Surf Church Collective. “Empower people who help plant surfer-friendly churches” Over 60 churches are currently a part of the collective, 24 of which have been started in the last 4 years!

Even while we have been away, leaders from our churches have gone to Pavones to meet with the people, gather them, and learn more about Jesus together. Here is John from Pura Vida Alajuela sharing the word at a local Pizza place in Pavones.
Pray: We are going nowhere without prayer. Pray for the existing works and for the Holy Spirit to continue to work in people’s hearts where there are still no surfer-friendly churches.
Share: Share the vision with others, we are looking for more partners and contacts of people who want to start Surf Churches, if you know people who may be interested or have a beach community close to their heart that doesn’t have a surfer-friendly church please have them get in contact with us.
