Pura Vida Church Costa Rica will Celebrate 5 years of ministry this month! What a celebration! It would not be happening without the grace of God and your financial commitments and prayers. Here is a quick look at what is happening at Pura Vida Church Costa Rica and what lies on the horizon! Please continue to pray for our family and the amzing opportunity that God has given us to serve in this unique place.

The Reformers

The “Reformers” is the name of the neighborhood where the newest Pura Vida Church is located. It is a low income development of about 800 homes. It is known for drugs, violence, unemployment and human trafficking. Right in the middle of it all is a Seeds of Hope Club House, a place of safety and opportunity for children who are al risk of exploitation. We have joined forces wtih Seeds of Hope to shine light in this dark place. Pastor Roberto, his wife Leonor and their two children live in the club house, and disciple the children in the program. They also host bible studies and are developing a cell church in that community. They are being and making disciples of Christ in that place.

Uno +

In 2013 Pura Vida Church Esterillos opened UNO +, a study center that serves the parents and children of Esterillos. UNO+ is Pura Vida Churches Children’s ministry and provides academic support, and artistic opportunities while instilling biblical values and teaching creation care principles. This program has provided opportunities to present Christ to people on authentic relationship at a time.

Vida Raiz

roots
Vida Raiz or Life Root is the newest initiative or Pura Vida Church. Our friends the Ulloa family will be moving to Esterillos in a few weeks to begin an organic farming co-op for the women of our area. They will be teaching a variety of sustainable farming techniques and providing a market for the produce to be sold. This initiative aims to be a blessing to the community by improving the quality of life for families, providing healthy food and jobs while also caring for creation by practicing sustainable agriculture.

“Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ – Matthew 22:37-39

Family Update

cyrus
Please continue to pray for protection and grace over our family. We lost the roof of our home, experienced personal family trials, our car was in an accident injuring two children, and we had a major ministerial dissapointment. Yet through it all His glory has been shown. We have an amazing new home that we are very grateful for. Our family is thriving. Good has come out of the accident as we have been able to build strong relationships with families of the injuried children. And God has brought new workers to carry on what He started! He has done it all and we will continue to depend on the Holy Spirit in everything!

Thank you!

None of this would be possible without the financial support of people like you. Please prayerfully consider giving a one time donation or a monthly commitment. This ministry depends on your generous gifts and thoughful prayers!
